The A&I team administers core campus services including storage, virtualization and VDI. Our goal is to provide excellent services and customer service to campus by maintaining uptime, communicating maintenance and changes, and troubleshooting customer issues.

Job Description

Students would be working with researchers and campus customer support representatives to setup and maintain virtual desktop environments for cutting edge projects

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and provides assistance to customers with operations of Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) systems.
  • Troubleshoot and provides assistance to customers with operating systems on Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) systems. Including Windows 10, Windows 11, Ubuntu desktops, RHEL desktops.
  • Compile the VDI system operating image.
  • Monitor and report VDI system failures and performance issues and produce metrics and reports on VDI system performance.
  • Assist with any VDI hardware requirements.
  • Maintain hardware and software inventories including developing and updating departmental distributed software license management policy.
  • Test and provide feedback of new VDI system images.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in Citrix or VMware system administration.
  • Scripting and or programming language experience.
